Bamboo, minus the panda. The stalk is segmented with fine etched lines at each node, and the ends overlap in a bypass at the front. It opens on a hinge with a push-lock tab, so there is no clasp to fumble. The finish is a brushed satin silver-tone with some darker patina, which suits the shape.
